Here you will find a brief history of my past and current work experience.
Responsible for the day to day administration and maintenance of the Builders' Registration Board, Painters' Registration Board and Builders' Dispute Tribute websites, ensures their integrity and verifies accuracy of information published.
Recommends and develops new website content to reflect developments or changes in the operations of the Boards and Tribunal, and in accordance with Guidelines for State Government Websites.
I design and develop web templates, interactive forms, content management and custom graphics for clients using several software packages as well as programming languages mentioned in the previous section. I scan and manipulate images and graphics for web development.
As Online Development Officer my main responsibility is the development and creation of learning materials for delivery in a format that can be accessed and viewed on the web, This format can either be through the WebCT or Blackboard online learning environments. I am also responsible for the maintenance of these websites by constantly monitoring emails to see if any faults have been reported by the end users. If the request is high priority, it will be the first issue to be addressed. More often the course coordinator of the unit request changes to the web content. The contents usually send electronically in word format and then converted to HTML. The final outcome is then uploaded to WebCT or Blackboard.
My role as Online Development Officer is often critical in the developmental stage of web development. I have learned to work on tight schedule and able to provide estimate on the timely delivery of the project. Again a good team working skills are also essential as other team members such as Project Managers, Database Administrators, Programmers, and sometimes end-users are also involved in the same web project. At Curtin, I need to be familiar with WebCT or Blackboard online learning environments. One of the most important characteristics of my role is the willingness to stay on top of the latest technologies and to constantly upgrading my current skill set.
I was responsible for providing course information and admission procedures to existing and prospective students. I was also responsible for preparing responses to e-mails and correspondence received from undergraduate and prospective students on a wide range of issues relating to enrolments, admission, courses, changes of program, timetable and other general enquiries. My other duties include various liaison roles between the academic and general staff of different faculties at the University as well as the mainstream and international students.
I was acting IELTS Secretary to the Administrator of the IELTS (Intensive English Language Testing System). I was responsible for providing clerical support to the Administrator while the encumbant is on extended leave. My main responsibilities were regularly clearing email and the voicemail, responding to requests concerning IELTS examination; entering candidate information on EFLCOMMS database as well as generating confirmation letters and IELTS results.
Seconded to the position of Research Officer, HACC Contract Specification. I designed and developed the specifications of Service Provision Database system using Microsoft Access. The aim of the project is to incorporate the service provision target framework requirements for the Central Unit planning purposes. The service provision targets framework was developed by the Commonwealth Department of Human Services and Health to bring together a range of ideas in developing service provision targets for a HACC planning area. It covers issues such as population trends, service provision by both HACC providers and other relevant providers and client needs. I was also required to produce contract schedules for each provider.
I was employed by Western Mining Corporation LTD in their Supply Department as Stores Clerk/Buyer and Relieving Stock Control Officer. My duties included re-ordering of stores stock and direct purchase items through a VAX mainframe computer using a Materials Management System (MMS) package; cataloguing of stock using NATO and Auslang languages through the mainframe computer; assisting the Warehouse Supervisor in stocktaking and other general office work.
The main store of Western Mining Corporation Kambalda Nickel Operation held 18,000 line items of mining equipment. The operation used millions of dollars worth of stock a week. It was my responsibility to ensure that stores stock was maintained daily. It was also my responsibility to expedite goods purchased by the other buyers and ensure that the freight charges imposed were correct.
